Bam. Another successful giveaway! Gracias to all who participated and helped me spread the love for Salem's Vengeance. I say it all the time, so one more certainly won't hurt: I couldn't do any of this without you folks. Thanks for helping me realize another of these crazy dreams you've listened to me prattle on about for years. Here's your winners (and info for the tour stop/book signing at City Lit Books this Saturday! Hope to see some of you there! :) If you didn't win and are still interested in a signed copy, click here to order from my online store. It's about the same price as Amazon's except these are signed by me. (Just remember to let me know who to make the inscription out to.) Promise I'll get your copy in the mail ASAP. ;)
Thanks again! You all rock!

The giveaway starts now and runs till Wednesday night when I'll announce the winner via a video drawing. A Facebook share and/or Tweet linking to the Salem's Vengeance Amazon page or my online store gains you an entry - (**be sure to tag me in either so I know to add you into the drawing).
Bonus entries if you share/tweet this event mentioning I'll be at City Lit Books in Chicago this coming Saturday, August 2nd from 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. to sign and sell copies of both Salted and Salem's Vengeance. One final note, if you or friends/family are interested in purchasing signed copies of either Salem's or Salted, know that the price listed in my online store already includes the shipping costs. Basically, unless you have free shipping through Amazon prime, a purchase through my online store is roughly equal to the same price on Amazon...except store orders are signed by me. Plus, I'll throw in a ginormous bookmark for free. ;) Thanks again for your support all. You're the best fans an author could ask for! If your childhood was anything like mine, you spent countless hours searching for a striped sweater and toboggan in the Where's Waldo? series. If I'm being completely honest, I still enjoy hunting down that rascally devil.
However, when Waldo proves elusive, or you're tired of the familiar red and white stripes, you should probably check out Find The Cutes. Oh, and it's your lucky day because I convinced illustrator and co-creator, Vincent Noot, to grant me an interview! Lowes and Home Depot: stores I previously dreaded walking into. Now, I'm greeted by name due to my previous week's escapades. I've written before of my woefully lacking handyman skills, but I decided early this year to conquer that weakness and learn more.
For those who haven't seen the Facebook pics, my wife went home to Indy for a work trip and took Little Miss to the see the grandparents last week. I opted to surprise them by transforming our dirty, rock-filled backyard with a newly landscaped lawn. Great idea, Galv, I imagine you thinking. Shouldn't you have been writing Taken With A Grain of Salt? How dare you leave me hanging at the end of Salted, sir! To that I say you're correct, but I apparently have an affinity for punishing myself. When I shared the idea with my parents of the surprise to come, as well as my plans - moving this tree here, switching out plumbing station heads, digging new irrigation lines, etc. - Dad gave a short response: "I think you got a big project." "Naw, Dad," said I. "It won't be that bad. It's just hard work and I can do that." Dad: "I think you got a big project, son." Ten points to Gryffindor if you guess which of us was right. Mrs. Claus showed up on my doorstep yesterday in shorty shorts and a tank top. Say what you will about the ol' bird, but she's got some muscles on her! Look what she brought me for being a good lil boy (so far) this year! HUGE thanks and love to all who preordered your signed print copies! The book hadn't even been reviewed, nor an excerpt given, and you were willing to bet on me. I'm mailing these signed copies out today! Thank you for the unwavering support. It means more than I could ever begin to write.
Now, as for the rest of you... haha. Heyo! I'm still alive! :) Apologies I've been MIA the past...oh...couple weeks. I locked myself away to bang away at Taken With A Grain of Salt, the sequel to Salted, most of this month. (I'm near 50,000 words so far, for those of you looking for an update.) I remain optimistic for an early December release so keep checking back for more updates! I didn't write a single word this past week, however. When Karen and I moved into our house, we discussed how we would someday transform the dirt patch/rocky abyss that was our backyard. Yeaaaah. About that. Fast forward a couple years and the backyard remained a dirt patch. Anyway, Karen and Little Miss headed to Indy last week believing I intended to write like crazy with both of them gone. Instead, I redid the whole backyard - new irrigation lines, moving trees, etc. Mark one giant checkmark off the Honey-Do list. ;) Meanwhile, a ton of great news piled up in the time I traded the writer's hat for a landscaper's. Let's kick it off with this little video: So this basket of awesomeness showed up today! Preorder your signed copy through my website store and I'll throw in one of these bad boys so you don't lose your place. :) I believe in the America of old. For the uninitiated, that means you don't ask for, nor accept, handouts. You don't complain. You don't make excuses. You lace up those work boots and make something happen.
If you want to know what America is/represents, I think Steve Jobs said it best: Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do. In honor of the upcoming holiday that's all about independence, I thought why not support your friendly indie author? I mean, that's what the 4th of July is all about, right? ;) Yes, folks, signed copies of Salem's Vengeance are now available for preorder. BTW, did I mention if you order through my website, I'm truly independent and don't split the profits with Amazon? Oh, and your book will be signed too. *hint, hint, wink wink* Click here to read an excerpt, or.... Happy Indie-pendence Day! :)
