Daddy's Got A Brand New Daughter
Been off here awhile now and received a couple emails wondering why...
Ladies and Gents, meet my newest daughter - Briar.
This second go around for the Galvin family hardly resembled the first experience. I dunno if this is a Dad/guy thing or no, but a chief concern of mine both pregnancies was highway traffic.
Cue eye rolls from the lady crowd.
While I'm confident the actor in me could have channeled Dr. McWhatever and helped my wife deliver a baby in our car if need be, I'm far more confident in my stunt driving and high speed chase skills.
Side note: Hollywood fooled us, ya'll - I have yet to use the emergency lane in speeding to the hospital.
My wife assures me this is a good thing.
The laboring time was different too - (our eldest took 25 hours, Briar took 8).
There have been a few similarities though - both our girls have their Daddy's dark hair and are oh-my-Gawd gorgeous like their Momma. Anyway, the Galvins are all home now. Momma and Briar are doing well. Little Miss loves being a big sister. And me?
I'm slowly accepting the fact that I'm now outnumbered 3-to-1.
At least they're all pretty.

Congratulations! Glad you didn't have to deliver in a car. FYI, most second births happen much quicker. Sorry the first one took so long, but glad you didn't have to go through so much time waiting on your second baby girl. Hopefully, that makes it a much easier recovery for your wife.

Thanks, Christine! I'm glad baby girl didn't arrive in the car either. Heh. My wife's doing well and we're loving baby girl. :)

CONGRATS AGAIN. So happy for you! I feel like I'm reiterating everything I just wrote to you on Goodreads, but this news seriously made me happy and apologies for taking so long to actually notice it!
